28th Feb- 4th Mar: The gentle ease of being

Activities presented: Yin, Yoga Nidra, Hatha & Nature walks

Explore the gentle ease of being within and with others and the world around you. The invitation to awaken into your essential nature, to your own essence of well-being and authentic aliveness; truly meeting, greeting and being with yourself. Our daily program, designed to nourish you deeply, includes morning yoga combined with somatic movement as meditation in motion.

We will also explore meditative self-enquiry with pranayama exercises and yoga Nidra, and experience the world at peace through Yin yoga, periods of silence and daily walks with Damien.

7th Mar- 11th Mar: Flow of Grace

Yoga presented: Restorative Yoga, gentle Hatha & Yoga Nidra

In this retreat you will be guided to experience a sense of freedom in the body and mind, allowing for the gentle flow of grace to move through and with you. By being attentive to all that is in the present moment, we invite life to unfold naturally within us. We will explore letting go of expectations and attachments to how we should do life, and instead, to be in life. This retreat will give you the opportunity to step away from a daily routine and give you the space to be open to your natural state.

Connecting the body through conscious movement breath awareness, we will energise in the morning through graceful flowing movements, contemplate our heartfelt desire and rest deeply midday through Yoga Nidra, and slowly release and surrender through a restorative practice in the evening.

14th Mar- 18th Mar: Yin and Yang: The dance of wholeness

Yoga presented: Yin & Hatha

The principle of Yin and Yang builds the foundation for balance in the universe and in us. In this retreat you will cultivate balance, harmony and freedom in your life- both on and off the yoga mat- as we explore both Yin and Yang asana practices.

The Yang practice will increase your flexibility, strength and energy and support you to become more focused, while surrendering to the slow pace and deep opening of Yin Yoga challenges you to be in the pure presence of awareness. As you experience deep passive stretches and letting go, you have the opportunity to listen to your inner voice and connect to your true nature.

In both practices we bring our focus onto the breath, and experience the power of breathing- combining breath and movement into an effortless dance and allowing our energy to flow more freely.

4th Apr- 8th Apr: Yin and Yang: The dance of duality

Yoga presented: Hatha & Yin

The dance between the yin and the yang, the light and the shadow side, the sun and moon; these opposing forces are represented everywhere, not only around us but also within us.

This beautiful retreat offers you the opportunity to use your yoga practice to explore the dance of duality within by bringing awareness to physical sensations, emotions and energetic flow. The integration of mindfulness practices within both dynamic and quieter yoga styles allows you to become more skilful in your own application of the practice in order to promote balance to your current state.

This retreat will offer an exploration of Hatha and Yin yoga styles as well as meditation and guided relaxation. You can expect some mantra (sound), mudra (hand gestures) and pranayama (breath practices) to be thrown into the mix so that you can explore the subtler practices that are not always offered in regular classes, all woven together with some yogic philosophy.

11th Apr- 15th Apr: Finding comfort and ease in yoga and in life

Yoga presented: Hatha

Patanjali, one of the most recognised ancient writers of yogic philosophy, wrote that we should seek sthira (comfort) and sukha (ease) in our asana. These two qualities allow us to find the right balance of effort and surrender required to allow us to achieve the maximum benefits from our practice. As well as being a wonderful guide to working effectively on the yoga mat, these qualities allow us to manage our lives beyond our practice. Finding them in yoga teaches us to find them in work, family, health, leisure and all other areas of our lives.

Over this retreat, we will explore the concepts of sthira and sukha through asana, pranayama (breath work) and meditation practices as well as recognising them in the natural surroundings of Armonia Alpujarra and reflecting on how they could be applied in other aspects of our living and being.

25th Apr- 29th Apr: Dropping into a deep, clear rest

Yoga presented: Hatha & Yoga Nidra

This retreat will take advantage of Armonia Alpujarra’s gorgeous surroundings, fresh air and bright blue skies to eat clean food, process our year so far and clarify new intentions. We will explore a range of relaxation and grounding techniques from the traditions of yoga, meditation and other healing modalities.

Using the curriculum of Hatha Yoga- a balanced and beautiful approach to practising with the body’s wisdom- we will drop into deep modes of rest, alignment and stability. There will also be opportunities for silent practice, giving you space to hear the natural world, your own longings and the rhythms of your beautiful body. In the evening, we will combine this balanced and beautiful approach with Yoga Nidra for a deeper level of rest and relaxation.
